Error during YAML import

Disclaimer: I am not a seasoned Drupal developer, but am continuing to develop an existing module.

I'm trying to import a YAML file in

Home > Administration > Configuration > Development > Synchronize

and get this error:

Unexpected error during import with operation update for module_name.yaml_file_name.yml: The configuration property module_name.some_property doesn't exist.

My YAML file is under config/install.

I'm not really sure where this property is supposed to be, even after some debugging and searching the Internet. Tried to add it to the schema.yml file, no luck.

The YAML starts like this:

  some_property: 'Auto'

What do these properties need to correspond to? Any help would be appreciated.

Mostly this means that module_name.some_property is a dependency of the configuration you're trying to import.

Locate and import first the module_name.some_property and then you should be able to import your current one.
