Screen issue in ubuntu not working

by hello moto   Last Updated August 07, 2018 05:02 AM

I've been trying to get my second monitor to work, I went into a big download frenzy with catalyst and their AMD/ATI driver always blacklists radeon for its own fglrz, although fglrx is no longer supported in AMD's software so every boot up after 6 attempts, different methods, al lcame up with a black screen, and I'm not downgrading xorg for fglrx, That's silly

My question: What program, software, driver or application can i use to get my second monitor to work

I have downloaded the open source AMD/GPU drivers

01:05.0 VGA compatible controller: Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. [AMD/ATI] RS880M [Mobility Radeon HD 4225/4250]

xserver-xorg-video-amdgpu - X.Org X server -- AMDGPU display driver
xserver-xorg-video-ati - X.Org X server -- AMD/ATI display driver wrapper
xserver-xorg-video-ati-dbg - X.Org X server -- AMD/ATI display driver wrapper (debugging symbols)
xserver-xorg-video-radeon - X.Org X server -- AMD/ATI Radeon display driver
xserver-xorg-video-radeon-dbg - X.Org X server -- AMD/ATI Radeon display driver (debugging symbols)

and i have the radeon module installed, What's weird is that both my laptop and desktop had the exact same install, My desktop works with a second monitor and my desktop doesn't, Only difference is the radeon driver on the laptop is a radeon 6320 and my desktop is a 4225/4250

I tried adding and exporting the monitor with xrandr, but still nothing came from it
