Is ethereum network ready for mass adoption?

The current state involves few challenges like network slowness and high transaction fees. How are others overcoming these problems. We know that many are building dapps on ethereum platform but how are they handling these problems? Cryptokitties was a major hit but still had to face these problems. Interested to know what are the possible solutions.

Ethereum has already deployed Raiden - the Bitcoin equivalent of the Lightning Network.

Omise-Go is using Plasma (Bitcoin equivalent - sidechains) to do millions of transactions a second.

Fun Fair has working examples of State Channels that allow you to, basically, transact limitless off chain and settle with the smart contract.

Vitalik Buterin has unveiled the Scaling Roadmap for network sharding.

Also, Ethereum has the highest number of developers and currently handles more tx than all of the other cryptos combined.
