I have an color obj file witch I would like to be an mob In my FMLPreInitializationEvent I have OBJLoader.INSTANCE.addDomain(Config.modid); Config is an class with the modid if it helps for items I use this --ITEMS--

public static Map<String, Item> ENTITYS = new HashMap<String, Item>();
new ModItem("example", CreativeTabs.MISC);

        private static void register() {
            for (Item item : ITEMS.values()) {
                GameRegistry.register(item);
            }
        }
        public static void registerRenders() {
            for (Item item : ITEMS.values()) {
                ModelLoader.setCustomModelResourceLocation(item, 0, new ModelResourceLocation(item.getRegistryName(), "inventory"));
            }
        }
    }

---MODITEM--

public class ModItem extends Item {
    public ModItem(String Name, CreativeTabs tab) {
        this.setRegistryName(Name);
        this.setCreativeTab(tab);
        this.setUnlocalizedName(Name);
        ModItems.ITEMS.put(Name, this);
    }

}
