Can you turn two inductively coupled conductors into a transformer?

So I'm working on a school project, and to be honest. Don't know a lot about electromagnetism. I want to make a wireless charging station that could be plugged into the outlet. Of course I don't want to actually use 230V (I live in Europe), so I'd like to turn that into 12V. And for that you need a transformer. But I was wondering whether you can, instead of using a transformer, have the coils serve two jobs. And have them transform, and wirelessly transmit and receive energy at the same time. And if that is possible, would that work the same way as a transformer. By turning one coil a few more times?

Ya, that's how the wireless chargers do it. Consider a Flyback transformer (https://training.ti.com/understanding-basics-flyback-converter) only instead of you having the Flyback in one package you'll have you primary side connected to the mains and the secondary side will be a physically different winding with a case or a housing providing the isolation, with the added effect of being able to remove the secondary physically away from the primary winding.
