Elastic Beanstalk: Next steps for authorizing Docker multicontainer config to access private-repository authorization file/key/object in S3

The documentation isn't specific about how to do this. The policies themselves are AWS-managed (immutable) and can only be attached to the EB environment's role. I've tried attaching each of the two S3 policies (read-only and full), but it hasn't made a difference.

What do I do to permit my EB environment to access my S3?
