How to add custom shader node into menu

I'm trying to write a blender plugin for a thirdparty renderer and just wondering how to add custom nodes into the "add new shader" menu. Currently I make subclasses of bpy.types.ShaderNode and registered fine. But these nodes don't show up in the menu, can anyone help?
